There is a James Jardine at Dixons - must be a property - interred Feb 8th 1793 aged 63. Doesn't give his occupation. Could he be the husband of Mary who died at Hayhill?

The info came from the church record book.

The only thing wrong with this is there doesn't seem to be a Mary in my Jardine line.

Jamjar,

If I am correct the James would have been born 1730 and Mary 1732. Yes, he could have been Mary's hausband and she moved to Hayhill after his death. Or, they could have been brother & sister.

I did think that too, there are no Mary's in your Jardine tree. I am going back to Lockerbie this afternoon.

Yes, I had all that info. Pity no headstone.

A clue may be in the name of the unbaptised child who died. Pity the name wasn't given. I'd also like to know the Betty connection, who I assume was an Elizabeth. Also, why didn't they name a girl after Janet's mother?

That is a pity. Was a pleasant drive, though. One forgets what a beautiful a area they live in.

My infant brother wasn't baptised and no name given on certificate.

Yes, I beleive Betty is also Elizabeth. I have also looked for a Christina. I know I have said this before, I am curious about the 6 years there were no children.

I wonder if they moved out of the area and then came back?

That is possible I suppose :-\.

The only children with connections to Joseph & Janet are George and Janet.
