« on: Sunday 22 April 12 00:53 BST (UK) »
Can anyone help me find information about this place :-\There's a sign that reads Ivy Cottoe above the door and another that reads Cadbury Cocoa ??? Where is this place and does it still exist today? And what does Ivy Cottoe mean anyways?

Thank You,
Adeline B

Hi Erato,

It reads High Class.I think this is a store as my GG grandfather was a grocer/dealer according to the census.

I think it might be "IVY COTTGE" rather than "COTTOE" - someone left out the "A"  ;)

Hi Prue,

I thought the exact same thing probably miss spelt ::) I enlarged the photo and it clearly reads Ivy Cottoe. looks to me like there's a lot of Ivy growing up the wall so Ivy Cottage makes perfect sense ;)

Thank You
Adeline :)

He looks Edwardian & the picture looks like a postcard.I would suggest sometime after 1902 but before the war.
Was he still living in 1901?
