I spoke to my brother-in-law today, he was brought up in Netherwood Road and can remember the Farrells. He thinks their next-door neighbours were related to them, cousins he thinks. I will try to speak to his older brother at the weekend, he will remember more.

Again and again and again, thank you Lodger.

I cannot express how much I appreciate your help. If you receive any additional information, please feel free to PM me. From the information you provided earlier I "Google Earthed" and low and behold I found 29 Netherwood Road. I can only imagine the history that that house holds. Funny you also mentioned Orbiston Street, as that is where a fair few of my relatives moved to and also where my mother was born.
Again, thank you for sharing your knowledge on what can be a sometimes lonely journey.

Hi, could anyone tell me where 30 Barns Rd, Motherwell was located. I have relatives who visited there in 1952. Thanks

Wonder if it should be Barons Road which I found on 'go ogle'?

Thanks Annie. You may have hit the nail on the head. My wife’s family name was Rodger and there was an I Rodger at 30 Barons Rd Motherwell in the 1982 Phone Book.
I have tried to find earlier records without luck. Any suggestions ? The name I am looking for is Alexander Rodger. Thank you.
