Can some one check out any info on the above. Believe he probably served in Canadian Army WW1

Born Sussex England  abt 1891 & married in 1917 to Elizabeth.

Believed to have returned to UK following his war service.

There are attestation papers for 5 Henry George Green WWI soldiers at this link. I hope one is the fellow you're seeking. Some knowledge of his next of kin at the time of signing up may help you discern which one is him.

You may also want to search the same website for Henry Green (leaving out the George) as it may bring you some other options to consider.

Have you checked ship manifests to see if you can track him down coming to Canada (to see if he arrived and where he was heading for) or arriving in England after the war?

Do you know if her married Elizabeth here or in the UK?

Happy hunting.

Thank you Red Mystic & vbain for your assistance.

I do know Henry married in UK to Elizabeth & also have details of his parnets etc as Henry was my Grt Uncle. All from Sussex.
When he married he was shown as "Soldier" but I have been unable to find any listings for him in UK military.
Somewhere on Ancestry I found a Henry Green & an Elizabeth was mentioned I thought linked to Canadian records but was unable to access the record as my membership does not cover that.
Have not come across any other travel records & have also tried without the George as you suggested.
Looked at the Canadain records you listed but none of them tie into my Henry Green either by place of birth or wife's name.
Coming to the conclusion that  Henry may not have served in Canadian army & got my lines crossed some where.

Many thanks, Facellia

http://freebmd.rootsweb.com

marriage Dec 1917 Qtr
Henry G Green
Elizabeth Clark
Horsham Vol 2b page 811

birth  Sept 1919 Qtr
S. E. Green, mother maiden name Clark
Horsham Vol 2b page 449

If this is the family you seek, you should order the marriage registration to see what is on it. If he was a Canadian soldier, it should list his Reg. Number, witnesses etc.

I didn't find any matches for Green/Greene in Attestation papers for First World War.

I checked at an***try and didn't find much there but there are a couple of family trees that list them, one with sourced documents.

Thanks Valeriec.

That is the correct family &  I have all those details.
The marriage cert I also have & it does not give any indication about which forces Henry was in it just says "Soldier", no number or info,  the residence &  marriage was in Sussex.

Probably my misjudgement to think he may have served in Canadian army as could not find him in the
British forces.

Thanks for your assistance.
