moore hughes
« on: Wednesday 25 April 12 14:28 BST (UK) »
hi,

this might be a long shot I am trying to trace Elizabeth Moore who married Peter Hughes who went to live in Liverpool around 1852 it is said they may come from Louth but I am not sure all I know that this particular side of the Hughes family had arrived in Liverpool from? Ireland who then moved on to Machester then to London.

Thank you for your help

Peter and Elizabeth were born well before the start of civil records. Have a look at these topics :

 Introduction to Irish Records
My Ancestor came from Ireland - where do I start?

Do you know what denomination your Hughes/Moore families were ?

Hi,

thank you for your information pointer. As far as I can make out Peter Hughes was a painter in Liverpool or journeyman his son also became a painter and then a foreman as for religon I beleve? they may have been roman catholic but in the time they arrived in Liverpool much of england was church of england and the catholic relgion didn't really get going until the turn of the century so they may have keept quite about it?

Have you found them on the English census returns ?
These can give county of Birth in Ireland, or sometimes the town - particularly the later returns..

Were any of their children born in Ireland ?
