Paper Manufacturing Kings Mill

Can anyone help with information about a paper mill that was once located near Castle Donington (possibly at Kings Mill) Leistershire.  My relative Joseph Drake Dixon states his profession on his marriage certificate in 1845 to Grace Kirkland as paper manufacturer as did his father George Dixon and I would like to find out about the mill where they worked.

Deaths - "On Monday at the King's Mills, in the Parish of Castle Donington, aged 37, Mr Joseph Dixon, of the firm of Messrs George, Joseph and Francis Dixon, paper manufacturers"

This book is a wonderful insight into the life of the brother of your ancestor which includes an engraving/picture of their birthplace and a picture of James Dixon..... you are really lucky and I am so envious! 


It gives a little insight into his early life, mentions his parents; was the second son of five brothers and two sisters.
Went to school in Castle Donington, but when he was ten years of age he was set to work in the Mill, of which his uncles were owners..... a lovely description of the countryside and the Mill - how the paper making began at four o'clock in the morning and at 8.20 were allowed breakfast.... 

Died December 28th 1871 - Bradford

There are about 28 Dixon's listed as being buried at Castle Donington between 1821 to 1926 but these are the ones that appear to belong to your family.... although I am assuming they are all related and maybe George was married three times? the list I have for Castle Donington begin about 1813 and I think there will be some Dixon's there before that date....

The Dixons are certainly well documented and this has been so very interesting. Thank you Dizzyfish.
George Dixon had 2 wives that I know of. Hannah Barber (m) 5 October 1813 at Castle Donington and Mary Smith.
Chn by Hannah Barber - Henry Barber Dixon (chr) 29 July 1816, Mary Ann Dixon (chr) 23 January 1821 (d) 4 Feb 1821, George Drake Dixon (chr) 14 Sept 1822 (d) 8 January 1823 and my ancestor Joseph Drake Dixon (chr) 9 October 1824 (d) 6 March 1893 Adelaide South Australia. Obituary for son of Joseph Drake Dixon and Grace Kirkland - George Henry Dixon says "....grandson of the late Captain Kirkland of 27th Regiment: also nephew of Rev Dr Dixon, Nottingham..."
Looks like I have the right Dixons and also burial place for George Drake Dixon (1 year) and possibly George Dixon 1858 (74 years).
