Jonas Francis born 1790 Ditcheat

I have just read your original request and can add some more detail to the family. I am a Francis and he was my great, great, great, great, great uncle. He had 4 brothers, joseph 1777, William 1778, Charles 1778 and James 1779 was my grandfather 5 times removed. Their parents I don't know other than his father was born in 1757. They were all farm labourers working at 'Ditcheat under hill'. I have the rest of my line down to me with some of the records from Taunton. I have visited Ditcheat but no grave stones of Francis exist as far as I can find. James had 5 children (1 named Jonas) and Jonas had 6 children (again 1 named Jonas).
I do not know if you are still a member of this link as it was 2012 when you enquired, but this may help if you are still interested.

Witnesses were: Thomas Lyntorn and William Cornish.

MARTHA Francis was buried 12 May 1820 age 75 (1745)***
THOMAS Francis was buried 11 Jan 1835 age 88 (1747)***

My info came from a search which I think assumed certain info from later census.
You say that Jonas was an unusual name but it obviously took off as both my great grandfather and his father were named Jonas all originated in Ditcheat but my great grandfather moved to Bath to become a Railway driver.
Am I right in saying that James Francis 1780 had 6 children, Jonas 1810 my great great grandfather, Frances 1813, Ann 1814 who died 4 years later, another Ann 1819, Jane 1822 and Charles 1826.

Maybe someone else said it but I didnt say Jonas was an unusual name.

I did notice another Jonas was Baptisng children in Ditcheat around the same time as THOMAS/MARTHA Francis.
His Wife was Mary HOARE and they married 06 Jan 1777 Ditcheat.

So a likely Brother for Thomas.

As to this;
Am I right in saying that James Francis 1780 had 6 children, Jonas 1810 my great great grandfather, Frances 1813, Ann 1814 who died 4 years later, another Ann 1819, Jane 1822 and Charles 1826.

Jane married George HOLE 1848

Her Daug is with James/Ann in 1851;

Frances Hole   2

1861 Jane is widowed and Frances is down as Fanny.

James/Anns burials are on FreeREG 1855 age 76/ 1858 age 75
