Do you have her marriage cert then?  If so, does it say whether her father was deceased at the time of the wedding?

On the 1881 census there is this family RG11; Piece: 3997; Folio: 32; Page: 15 headed up by Ann Simpson who is a widow.

There is a Herbert (died 1898) and Margaret (died 1898) Jones in the same grave if that helps.

OK, so you're looking for her birth family before 1890.

Elizabeth Simpson born about 1871, father Samuel. Born in Manchester according to census records, and living in North Manchester in 1891, 1901, 1911.

Is the name Samuel as father from Elizabeth's marriage certificate?

Anne
Halifax/Huddersfield area West Yorkshire
Monmouthshire, Gloucestershire, Berkshire and nearby areas.
Bilcliffe one name study all areas.

The one found by Spidermonkey in 1881 has a brother David which would fit.
It may be an error re the father's name.

1861 has the couple as David Simpson and Ann Lee, with child David Lee. There is a marriage in 1862.
