There is a marriage for Joseph Burt to Catherine Williams 2/5/1817 at St Columb Major.
The groom signed his name BURTT the same as Catherine signed when she remarried

Well done Richview

That marriage date would fit in nicely with Lydia's baptism in 1818

I've had a go at finding Lydia - have no marriage etc but a possibility is she married Jeremiah Gilbert -b.c. 1818 Hayle Cornwall
They moved to Briton Ferry Galmorgan
Jeremiah was a Trinity Pilot
3 of their children were given middle names which look like Surnames
Jane Catherine Goodwin Gilbert
Elizabeth Wearn Gilbert
Rosina Burt Gilbert
??? maybe clues????

I cannot find a baptism for James Burt - but by 1861 he was in Cardiff occ Shipwright married to Ann -and his daughter was called Lydia!!!

She would have been about age 22/3 when she married Joseph Burt - I suppose she could have married age 17 /18 and been widowed young??

Wonder if her maiden name was Goodwin (as Lydia named a child Jane Catherine Goodwin Gilbert??

also wonder if  Joseph Williams (witness at marriage to Joseph Burt was her son - or an in law??

Guesswork -but maybe???
