Hi Jk,

I'm not sure if you'll get this because the last post was so long ago. But as I mentioned earlier, my family are direct descendant of the Roses in Sturminster Newton. Thomas and Jane Rose who were the first free settlers in Australia and came here in the Bellona are my great (X~12 or so) Grandparents.
I would love to hear any information you have about the Rose Family in Dorset and I'm super interested in what your house is like!! Do you think we could connect online to talk about this?

Hope to hear from you,
Jessica Rose

Hi

I found this post while researching my family tree. Im descended from Anne Rose from Sturminster Newton who married into the Grainger family.

My mother, a Grainger married into the Rose family from the Barham Kent area.

I would love to hear from any of the Rose descendants.

Regards

Ian Rose

Hi @IanRose :-)

There are still many Roses in Sturminster Newton. In fact, the Mayor of the town is also a Rose - Joe Rose!

They have a small history museum that documents much of the Rose's history. I have some emails from various Roses which have some interesting old pictures of around the area. Feel free to email me - jessica@rosetraining.com.au.

Hope this helps!

Jess
