Hi Ricardian
Thank you for your post. I also have Gower relatives from St Ishmael where the name appears thick on the ground, one of whom is my x 4 great grandfather Edward Gower (1756 to 1824) who married Anne Harry at Llanegwad Church on 31 December 1782 and whose daughter Elizabeth (1784 to 1849) married my x 3 great grandfather David Bowen from whom I am descended on my mother Mair Bowen's side. Wouldn't be surprised if we're related!
Regards,
Brian

Might be worth checking the Gower probate documents on the NLW site. Some go back a long way in Pembrey and St Ishmael (e.g. 1607)

Check the St Davids diocese for the Gower surname. You can view the images free of charge.

Hi Brian

Yes we could be related somewhere along the line. My Eynon relatives, descended from Ann Gower lived in Trimsaran. I think that I have got some info on her parents but it is on my old computer. I have not long moved and at present it is waiting to be set up again. Will try to look for it.

I suspect you are related to Sam Eynon the buses of Trimsaran in which case we are related as my brother-in-law is descended from a Gower-Eynon-Trimsaran line. I'll revisit his tree and find out more information.

Hello Mary

David Eynon b. 1810 married Ann Gower b 1811. Their daughter Jemima Eynon 1854 to 1937 married Thomas Southcott  1852 to 1915 (originally from Devon) whose son Thos Southcott 1878 to 1926 married Frances Thomas 1874 to 1941 whose daughter Bessie Southcot 1907 to 1996 was the mother of my brother-in-law Illtyd Williams. Does Syddym Farm Trimsaran ring any bells? The Eynons were there for a while. Siblings were Arthur b. abt 1842, Hannah b. abt 1844, Rachel b. 1845 and Ann or Anne 1853.

Regards,
Brian

Hi Brian

That's brilliant. Syddym Farm doesn't ring any bells. I found them on the 1881 can't remember the name of the farm off hand but it wasn't Syddym. Will check it out and let you know. Your suspicions are right, Arthur was my gt grandfather, his daughter Ellen was my father's mother. They lived at Waun Hir Farm in fact  my father Sid was born there.  Sam Eynon was my gt uncle. I don't think that I met him but I have fond memories of his son Hywel, who used to visit my grandmother in Maesteg regularly. What a small world it is.  I spent a few weekends in Trimsaran as a small child. We always stayed with Ivor Eynon one of my father's cousins.

Regards
Mary

Was Ellen's full maiden name Elinor Jane Eynon?

The above name is wrong: Ellen born around 1876?
