There's such a dearth of information at this time you can never be sure if you've got the right one. There's a Jonathan born 1758 St.Phillip's to Jonathan & Mary nee Teston who could be the parents of Jonathan but that's about it.

The deal Ancestry had was with the War.CRO.They don't hold the PR's for B'ham which is a pity.

Re Tanworth Neweys and "boatman". It was William who was the "boatman" .
Samuel  was a coal dealer  .
This seems to be a  possibility that she is next door  to  Samuel Newey as all the other  Mary Ann Neweys of similar age  seem to be with their parents  . Though interestingly there is also a Maria NK (not known)  with William Newey boatman at Tanworth who is  also right age .
Id really like to find Mary Ann Newey on the 1841 census and need second opinions on where she is. (she is not with her parents central Birmingham  )  or find  her bapt or  bapt for any of her siblings .
Mary Ann Newey b about 1820/1825 Warwickshire.
Father Emanuel Newey mother Mary (nee Goode)  they married Handsworth 1818. . . .
Mary Ann married Elijah Bruerton/Brueton  1845 Birmingham

Hello, Mary Ann Newey is also my GGG grandma.
I got interested as recently my dad's elder sister said that the family were Jewish, and was trying to find the link. I think it is from the bruetons looking at my Great Nan may violet who was very unusual looking. ! Do you know any more about this ?
Thanks !
