In the list of Purdons of 1891, Arthur Purdon is my grandfather, he married Janet Small Coupe. He then had 3 daughters and a son. His children were called; Jean(my mother), Agnes, Bessie and Arthur. Arthur's son Arthur retired and emigrated to Canada and died a couple of years ago. I have been doing some research into the Purdons and found out that Arthur's father was married to Janet Broadley. I have managed to trace this part of my family back to 1789 where I believe my GGGgrandfather was a farmer before moving to Milton of Campsie. Janet Broadley was a weaver at Milton of Campsie. My grandfather was a carter before the 1st world war, and then served with the Army Service Corps throughout 1914 - 18, was gassed and was never the same again. He died in 1969. If anyone has any other info on the family, please get in touch. The Purdons seem to have lived in Kinning Park, my mother lived in 5 Tower Street when she was a child, I was born in 20 Tower Street and it seems my family stayed there for 3 generations for almost 100 years in or around Tower Street, Kinning Park.
