I tried to phone virgin this morning & waited nearly 30 minutes listenig to  C*** music before I gave up  ???

I know exactly what you mean ???

You could email them instead, or try the forum http://community.virginmedia.com/ or even try NTHellworld http://www.nthellworld.co.uk/home.php.

I think we have assumed that since you upgraded to the SH the wireless connection has operated correctly and at full speed (but not now).
Would you confirm?

Would you also confirm that you have switched off / rebooted the SH then retried the wireless connection?

The laptop is Win7 / Vista / XP ?

Are you able to see if the old laptop (still) connects / connects properly?

Are you able to try your new laptop around a friends home w/l connection.
(or vice versa)

You need to do the speed tests connected through the Ethernet.
Change the channel to 2, that seems to be away from the others.

Must admit your speeds are about the same I had over wireless in the few weeks after Virgin upgraded the speed for everyone in the area. Touch wood it is not so problematic now.

I am sorry about your problem getting through to report a problem with a Virgin service.
Another way of contacting Virgin (a bit drastic) is customer service (retentions).
Dial 150 and select (I am wanting to leave Virgin).
Advise the person you, as a new customer, are not a happy person due to your problem with the SH.
The department have the power to reduce your bill/offer discounts as a way of keeping customers.
Hope you manage to get something sorted pretty quickly.

I got through to Virgin this morning. They did some tests at their end & said he would phone me back in about 2 hours ( of course he didnt)  ???
I just phoned them again & got a lad that did the Remote Screen thing & he changed some settings & did another Speed Test. It is still no better  so he has booked a Tech. to come out on Monday. He said there was no fault on their side so it might be the cableing here.
I'll update on Monday & let you know whats happening  :P
Thanks all

A virtual pound says he can't find anything wrong. ::)
(Just tell the person that comes you are unable to use the wireless side.) :o :o
Ideal if you could do a few speedtests, printing out to verify your problem. 8) 8)
