Hi
i,v just come across your Rexter family on here while browsing i,v also just discovered a Charles Rexter who could possibly be put my husbands tree
Charles Rexter born 1759 in fermough ireland i think it,s enniskillen he was a troop sgt major in the 7th dragoon guards i have a copy of his discharge papers from 1819 when he was 60yrs old
we think it,s his daughter Mary Rexter born approx 1806 on 1841 census and is married to  James Mcnamara (my husbands great great grandfather) he came from longford, and was also in the 7th dragoon guards as a trumpet major also he was prodestant.  also there first son was called Charles Rexter Mcnamara
i,v discovered the Rexter name is very few and far between on the census, i,d love to find out more about this family
Mcnamara  longford& dublin brighton sussex, and somerset, canada from 1908
Rexter, Enniskillen fermough

Hi Mary
Thankyou for the christening i,ll put it on my possible page, james mcnamara was also christened in temple micheal in 1797 so i,m wondering whether there was a barracks there and james,s parents were also  connected to the 7th dragoon guards. as james went in to the army at the age of 13 in 1809. another mystery to unravel.
                                    cheers vivian

Hi,
I had not come across the name REXTER before and had a look on the IGI website where I notice that the name may have been spelled RAKESTRAW at one time.

The IGI stands for the international geneology index which you will find under familysearch run by the church of the laterday saints it,s a usefull site as it is free.
The best thing you can do to trace your husbands family is to start with his dad,s marriage certificate then hopefully his birth certificate to get on to any of the censuses.
If your husband,s side are born australians for a couple of generations there are quite a few Rexters in the victoria area of australia.
England side i can help with uk census
                           Cheers vivian

Hi,
The IGI is the International Genealogical Index, a site run by the Church of the Latter Day Saints (Mormans) and as Vivian says it is free. The address is www.familysearch.org
Select "Search Records"
After a few seconds a grey panel appears on the left hand side.
Select IGI and fill in your info.

Regards

Hi!  My name is Tracey Rexter and I love in Melbourne Australia.....I understand you are trying to trace the REXTER tree.  My brother's name is also Darren.
There are a few Rexter's in Melbourne if that is of any help...
