John Evans b 1823 Llangadfan. I have details of him from then onwards.

His father listed as Evan Evans a butcher in 1846 on John's marriage certificate.

His mother Jane??

According to John's Baptism they could have been living at Whitehall in 1823.

I would appreciate any info on Evan and Jane and any other children they may have had.

There is an Evan and Jane Evans in the 1841 Census living in Llangadfan,both are given as born in County in c 1776.Evan is given as a Butcher.

Thank you for this reference WR Jones. I haven't noticed it before but I cannot see Llangadfan anywhere only what looks like Bryncarnedd.

Do you think it could be them?

They are living in a township which looks like Bryngworddan.They appear to have died by 1851 though.Given that he is listed as a Butcher it could very well be them.

I ask this because their son, John was born there in c 1823. I have his marriage lines in Wrexham in 1846. He married an Elizabeth Ellis.

Evan and Jane would have been quite old then having him.

With Evan and Jane apparently not living till 1851,we don't get any real idea of their ages.Is Evan listed as deceased on the marriage certificate?
