Butchers in wartime Salford

Hello
I'm trying to find out about my grandfather John Burgess, who had a butchers shop in Salford during the war and before and after I think.   I think it was at 64 Claremont St.  Can anyone confirm or tell me anymore about it please?

Do you mean Claremont Road? Or do you know where Claremont Street is/was?

Might not be same person, but the BT phone book archive lists a J.W. Burgess, butcher, at 108 Sussex St, Lower Broughton (1935 and 1942)

Hi, Just come across your post. Not sure if you have solved the problem of Burgess butchers, but I have a photograph of my father outside one of the shops where he worked in the late 20s/early 30s. I am about to post in on facebook in Salford Yester Years if you are still interested or have anything you could add. Hopefully someone on there will be able to tell me where it is.
