Hi Rob
Forgive my ignorance, but what exactly does "RO" stand for. I am not  familiar with UK  Archives and sources?
Thanks, Shirley

Records Office - although that need not be the offical title http://www.cumbria.gov.uk/archives/recordoffices/default.asp
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.

Hi Rob
Unfortunately not - I have found nothing further. I am researching his children, grandchildren and business partners in the hope that something may come up.
Thanks

Hi If your George Chambers Reed is son of John Reed and Jane Boak. He has the following ancestors.
John Reed is son of John Reed and Frances Chambers.
Frances Chambers was daughter of George Chambers.
George Chambers  was buried June 17 1764 age 86. He was son of John Chambers who was buried 27 Jul 1708.
He was descended from Robert Chambers of Knowhill and his wife Ann Keye. Robert died 1584.
He was descended from the Chambers of Raby Cote who were descended from the Chambers of Wolstid Castle. Originating with the William Chamber of Holme in Holderness in the time of Edward 1. If you need more help and want to fine the pedigrees let me know. Pippa

Hi Pippa

Thanks for your reply and the info. Unfortunately up to now my brickwall is still standing firm! I had some information from a family member but could not verify where it came from or if it was factually correct.
I have sent you a personal message.

Many thanks
