Can I just check birth/marriage years because you have him and his wife marrying at 13  :o

Just noticed I put the wrong marriage year in the first post. Their marriage was 1859 not 1851. They would of both been around 21 not 13!

Not if he was born in Newbury.

In the 1861 census he is recorded as being born in Newbury Buckinghamshire

In both the 1871 and 1881 census he is recorded as being born in Newbury Berkshire

I did have a look at the baptisms for St Nicolas Newbury but could not see a baptism  for a William Morgan between 1835-1840

Freebmd has this marriage:

William Morgan and Harriet Nailor
March Q 1838
Newbury 6 251

As his wife Susan came from Buckinghamshire could the William Morgan Milliepede mentioned be your William Morgan in 1851?

There is also a William Morgan c1814 Berkshire living in Buckinghamshire in the 1851 census who might be worth a look and a Harriet Morgan c 1816 Berkshire living in Buckinghamshire who might also be worth looking at.

Sorry but I don't have access to census images otherwise I would post these for you.

I ordered the certificate for William Morgan and Harriet Nailor. It lists the parents as William Morgan and Francis Nailor.

Have you managed to find a William, Harriet and William jnr together in any of the census records where an occupation for William (the groom) matches census occupation?

Please can you post all the details from the marriage certificate?

I see that William Benjamin Morgan's father William was recorded as a Coachman on the marriage certificate for William & Susan and also the marriage certificate for William & Harriet records William Morgan (groom) as a Coachman. (looks promising!!!)

Newbury Library does have some records for the parish of Greenham but I think they stop at 1837, I'll have a look next time I'm in town.
