Herberts of llanfihangel y creuddyn
« on: Monday 25 June 12 20:19 BST (UK) »
With thanks in anticipation.I am searching for the birth of my gtx2 grandfather David Herbert who was born 1785.I am not sure of his place of birth but it is likely Llanfihangel y creuddyn,Cardiganshire. He married a Mary Benjamin and had my gt grandfather william Herbert in 1830 approx. They were leadminers and William on the census lived at Tanyllether a smallholding left to him by his father David.I can find no will at National Library and have tried for a long time to find David and Marys parentage.I cannot afford to belong to a genealogy site though do have a very basic one with Genes Reunited .This has helped flesh out much of my tree but not this bit.My father used to believe we had a connection to the Herberts of Hafod. Please if anybody out there can help me I would be delighted!!!

surviving baptisms for the parish date from 1791, so it's unlikely you'll find a baptism for David. And the IGI online batch starts in 1811, so tto late for Mary.

The marriage was 28/4/1815.
