his photo had been sitting in a box at My Parents
house for many years No one in the family seem to know
who He.... is any help with regt may be a start

I was 'nt sure about it being a Raf Uniform
what threw me was I always thought the wings were
across the breast pocket at least this narrows it down a little

Is the striped shirt correct? I always thought they would beplain either blue or white.

I must admit that puzzled me too.  Perhaps it was someone trying on an airman's jacket. :)

Might have been for a publicity picture for a local newspaper..

I remember when I was in the TA you didn't have to wear uniform on a weekday night and one night in 1964 I was called to the CO's office and given a spare uniform to put on. My Cpl's stripes pinned on with safety pins and had my photo taken with a Staff Sgt for the Liverpool Echo as we had both been picked to fly out to Germany to do two weeks with the regular army. We were part of an experiment to see if our training was compatible with the regular army. Which it was as it is now normal for TA todo tours of duty.
