Births, Deaths and Marriages Online. An excellent site. Click on Historical Records and then choose the type of record you want. Be aware that wildcard searching is not available and that due to privacy reasons there are date limitations to searching. By narrowing the search dates you can discover precisely the date of the event you want to find.

Westland Hospital Register of Patients 1884-1908
Archives New Zealand have digitized these registers, now available on Archway. The registers are in two sections. The first is an index with patients sorted by the first letter of their surname and their entry number, although determining which year the entry number refers to can be difficult. The patient entries provide name, age, native of, long how in New Zealand, and malady for which they were admitted. Other information may also be provided, such as maiden name.

The Consultation Letters of Dr William Cullen (1710-1790) at the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh.
Cullen's private consultations survive as a remarkable archive of several thousand letters and provide an historical insight into the experience of illness and the effort to cure disease.
