Jefferys in Dawlish, Devon
« on: Monday 23 May 05 13:44 BST (UK) »
I have hit a brick wall with my G Grandfather Alfred Jeffery who was born in Lewisham c. 1860 and as far as I know stayed in SE London / North Kent area however I have found in 1881 that 2 of his sisters Sarah and Elizabeth are at Wilton Cottage, High St. Dawlish. By this time both parents had died and family seemed to have split up. So why move to Dawlish I wonder, perhaps the family originally came from the area. My question therefore is has anyone come across a Jeffery(s) family living in the area whilst doing their research.

Hello Ajay

I live in Dawlish. I will see what I can find out. I also hope to visit the Devon Record Office if it has re-opened within the next week.
