« on: Friday 06 July 12 12:14 BST (UK) »
Hi I am looking for Augustine Madden dob 13/7/1867 in Ballinasloe Galway I think his parents where Michael Madden and Margaret Kane.  He was Married in 1922 in limerick . I would like to know who his siblings were, any help to point me in the write direction would be greatfully accepted .

Thankyou Lynda

just wondering why you say you think his parents were Michael Madden and Margaret Kane - do you have the marriage and birth certs for Augustine already ?

There are several possible births for this couple in the extracted civil births on FamilySearch :

   Madden / Kane births

Given the dates it's possible there were other children born before the start of civil records in 1864.

The extracted records on Family do not show the full details - you need a cert from the GRO to see these. These can provide the additional clues you need to establish, or rule out, a link. E.g. father's occupation on birth and marriage cert, place of birth usually as a townland name  etc..

Hello,

there is a Michael and Margaret in 1901 census in Deerpark which matches to one of those births.  I'm not sure about the ages of parents and children, but they are often not that reliable anyway.
I can't see Augustine anywhere.

regards
heywood

Hi Lynda

Are you sure you are working with the right dates, as that would make Augustine 55 when he married in Limerick ?

While not unheard of, it might be worth double checking !

An index search on Rootsireland for father Michael Madden and mother Margaret Kane brings up the following hits: Augustine (b. 1867), Thomas (b. 1868), Mary (b. 1870), Bridget (b. 1874), Bridget (b. 1877), Patrick (b. 1880), and Michael (b. 1881).

All Co. Galway.
