Hi there,

I can see a Henry FERRIS’ death registered at Dubbo in 1925.  His parents given names are indexed as Henry and Sarah.  #4311.

If you are considering obtaining these certificates, perhaps the alternative of an official transcription would be an option.  These can be sent as email attachments and are not as expensive.

This chap's NAA file shows he is deceased  (page 5 of 21,  year : 1983, so it is currently within the restricted access period for NSW DCs) He was born DUBBO, and could well be a brother to the chap Muss has found.   His NAA file contains a photos.

Adding : he enlisted as Charles Albert Henry F, perhaps that is him listed by Sue as Charles E  :)

A Stanley John Ferris died 23 Aug 2009 in Victoria.  Not sure if he is the one who Muss found who was born in Dubbo and served in WW2.  His tribute is available on http://tributes.heraldsun.com.au

Electoral rolls show:

1909 at Moora St, Rushworth
Emily Elizabeth MASON, home duties (no other MASONs shown in Rushworth in 1909)

1914 at Bailieston (no other address shown so these people may not have been living in the same house, and no relationships shown)
Charles MASON, sleeper hewer
Clement Melville MASON, labourer
Eliza Jane MASON, home duties
Emily Elizabeth MASON, home duties
George Ernest MASON, labourer

1919 at Bailieston  - same entry as 1914 with an additional person Catherine Mary MASON, home duties

1924 at Bailieston
The same 6 MASONs as shown in 1919 with Charles listed as Charles John MASON

1931 at Bailieston, as 1924 with Elsie Wylma MASON, home duties, added.

This overlaps with the births of children in NSW in 1916 and 1918 and with the electoral roll entry found by majm - however it's not unusual for a person to be on two rolls, owing to moving residence etc.  Perhaps Emily/Elizabeth is on 2 rolls by mistake for all those years as it seems probable that she is listed below  :-\

1909
Henry FERRIS, hotelkeeper, and Henry FERRIS junior, farmer, are both at Moora, Vic (near Rushworth)

1914 at Rushworth
Henry FERRIS junior, farmer,
Elizabeth Emily FERRIS, home duties

Cannot see them after that in Victoria, however NSW entries are not accessible to me until 1930.  This would fit with a death for Henry in 1925; his father's name also fits with the death posted by majm.

Sorry - a bit confusing!
