the Ruck family of Monmouth
« on: Wednesday 18 July 12 19:46 BST (UK) »
My Great Grandmother was Laura Ruck, Daughter of Amos Ruck who was the son of Edward Ruck

Amos and his family left Orcop in Herefordshire in the 1880's and moved to Monmouth where Laura met and married William Evans

I am trying to contact anyone who is also researching the Rucks

Jemima Jones is right, I have that her parents were James and Mary Jones nee Berington.  Their parents Thomas Jones and Sarah Goode, with James Berington and Mary Powel.

I am decended from Amos Ruck, and I have that his siblings were James, Edwin, Mary Ann and George.

As it happens Amos and his brother James married the Williams sisters Elizabeth and Laura respectively

Hello! Iam new to this website.

Iam a ruck! My family originate from the hendre monmouth.

My 2x Great Grandmother was Laura Ruck from Orcop so it is higly likely that other members of the Ruck family travelled a bit further south into Monmouth.  I have not done a great deal of research sideways from Lauras father Amosís generation.

I too am a Ruck and my family hail from the Hendre in Monmouth. I'm very new to all of this genealogy business but find it incredibly interesting and addictive. I have traced my roots (mainly thanks to all of those who have done the hard work previously)through to Amos Ruck and then back to William (1718). I am trying to work a little sideways and explore further branches of the family and a name that keeps cropping up is Enoch Ruck who seems to have been born at a similar tome to Amos and I was wondering what the link (if any) there is between them. I note that Enoch was the father of Sydney Robert who is on the Memorial in Monmouth, and sparked all of this new found interest. I wondered if anyone out there could help? Dave.
