hebburn, hebron
« on: Monday 30 July 12 01:49 BST (UK) »
Hello,
I am looking for a christening at hebburn Northumberland
between 1900 and 1919. Can anyone tell me where I might
find these records?
On the Genuki site the birth records for this area
are only mentioned up to 1900.
thank you

I suspect that genuki hasn't been made aware that more records have been added.

Do you need a look up and, if so, who are you looking for?

Hello,
What I am looking for is a little confusing as I am not 100% certain of the father's name.   I am looking for the birth of Jean/Janet Noble who was born to Annie Middlemass Noble and James Noble sometime between 1911 and 1920. There is a slight possibility that the father's name might been different.
Her brother was Ernest Noble who was christened at St. Gabriel Heaton living at Ninth Ave. Heaton in 1899. Ernest and his mother's address in 1917 was at Shamrock Rd. Hebburn. I believe they would have been Church of England.
Thanks,
Sallylynne

Hebburn is a small parish, population wise.  If the records are available I will cast my eye down the surname column to see if she can be found.  It wouldn't be possible to cover this time scale for a larger parish but might be possible for this one.

It won't be until Wednesday though

There was a Shamrock Street in Hebburn, Co. Durham. Different place from Hebburn Parish in Northumberland.
Ernest Noble is living with his grandfather John Middlemass in Hebburn Co. Durham in 1901 census.
So you probably need to be looking at the churches in Jarrow or Hebburn area, but there are a few.

I agree with Alan in that you should be looking around the County Durham community of Hebburn, rather than the Hebburn/Hebron of Northumberland.

The marriage of George Middlemas and Rachael Wharrier was registered in the June Qtr of 1847. They married in St Nicholas Cathedral, Newcastle.

 (1851 census at 2419-14-21)

Their son John George Middlemas married Janet Noble ( Morpeth Reg District December Qtr 1875.)

Their daughter Annie Wharrier Middlemas married James Stephenson Noble at St Gabriel's, Heaton, Newcastle, March Qtr, 1900. (James's father was, like Annie and her mother Janet Middlemas, nee Noble, born at Longhirst, close to Hebron in Northumberland)

I'll have to go back to bed !

For the 1911 census ( gleaned from the index) Annie Wharrier Noble nee Middlemas stated that she had been married 12 yrs, had had two children, both of whom were, by 1911 census, still surviving. Ernest 12, and Alan, 10, are listed in the census.

Birth of a  Jane A Noble ( with maiden name as Noble) was registered in the December Qtr of 1912 with the Durham Reg District.  At that time that RD covered Durham City and parts of the county to the central and western areas.

Although Jane's birth was registered with Durham RD, she could have been baptised almost anywhere !
