I am trying to locate the burial place of my grand aunt in England
However I am hindered by the information on her being quite scant
Her name was Brigid/Bridget MANNION (sometimes spelt MANNING);
she was born on Dec 2 1886 to Andrew MANNION and Brigid McDERMOTT
in Cloonkeen, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon
and baptised a Roman Catholic on Dec 18 1886
She is listed on the 1911 Irish census living with my grandfather John in Roscommon
Family lore is that she went to England and became a nurse and subsequently a matron
and that she died in the late 1950s or 1960s without marrying.
An aunt of mine visited her grave in the 1970s and photographed the grave but
unfortunately she is now deceased and I do not know what became of many of her possessions.
Another Aunt (her niece who is now 90) thinks she lived in a location that began with "B"
but unfortunately this varies from Brighton to Blackpool!!
My mother who would have been a niece-in-law seems sure that it was on the coast
possibly in Kent, as the aunt who visited didn't travel far from London to visit the grave.
I have just been made aware of a register of nurses that is held at Kew -
DETAILSI would sincerely appreciate if anyone is travelling to Kew to view these records if they could look her up for me please, if there is enough information here.
Equally if anyone can suggest another way of sourcing information on her - thank you
