Hi Elaine,

Where do you live ?

In Dublin you can go to the centre in Abbey Street and get them there and then.

Each county (as far as I am aware) has their own registration office where you can get certs BUT they use different reference numbers, so unless you can provide them with exact details it can prove tricky.

In Dublin you can get 5 certs there and then. If you want more they post them out to you, at no extra charge.

Abbey street is quite long and consists of Upper, Middle and Lower Abbeys St. The Irish Life centre is at the eastern end of Lwr Abbey St. and maybe about 300 yards from Connolly Station

according to google maps it's 400 metres ... see :

Connolly Station to Irish Life centre

sometimes you can end up with quite a walk from the platform to the station exit - although I think the Belfast & Newry trains usually end up in the main building.

Hi Elaine,

Do you want to let us know the certs that you are looking to get - just to make sure that you have the correct info ?

There are little white forms when you go into the office that you fill in with the reference numbers and name etc, you hand these into the person at the desk and they come back to you with copies of the certs.

NB ! Please note that what you get for the 4 euro is a photocopy of the cert NOT the actual cert.

If you don't have these reference numbers and dates then you have to do searches in their books (which costs in both time and money).

So, if you want to let us know what ones you are planning on getting we can make sure that you have all the correct details.

wonder when women started studying medicine at trinity college.dublin?
Reason i ask is because when we were in kildare last month,my husbands niece told us there was an Honoria Aughney, who was one of the first women to do so....wonder could it be the same Dr.Hanoria Aughney.,Rathoe Graveyard(see seanmacs' posting)who died 1991,aged 90?

still ploughing through Aughneys on FamilySearch,Tara...will then sort out which certs i'll need.

which ones would you suggest?...blind John.,Michael...??....i am unsure, and cant afford to spend a fortune if i dont have to....would rather just get the ones that are relevant.
