Gibbards of Bristol

Hi there, I'm a newbie to the site and so far I'm really impressed with it's content. I'm looking into my maternal grandmothers family, Gibbard, living in Bristol. Sarah, my Gmother was born in 5, Aiken St. in 1889. Her father was William John born 1860 in Bristol. Am interested in any family connections.

Caroline is most likely Julia Caroline MEDEN who Married William GIBBARD
09 August 1819, Bristol, Gloucestershire

1851 Census Charles is with his Mother Caroline in Bristol. She is born c 1803, Bristol.
1841 Caroline and Charles are alone also.

Many thanks Trish, It was a sticky finger job. My Sarah WAS 1899 so you were right on the button. I now have a few new leads and will follow them up. Charles Parkman and Mary Ann Snelgrove were Sarah's Grandparents, I'm looking to see if either of those had siblings as there seems to be another family living close to mine and I have to sort out the children !

I think I have led you astray with Charles Parents;
His Mother must be a Caroline but not Julia Caroline MEDEN.

Julia Caroline Meden who married a William Gibbard 1819 goes on to Marry again in 1824;

Marriage;
02 August 1824, Bristol, Glous
Julia Caroline GIBBARD/James GILBERSON

I can only find them in 1861 Census where she is born c 1805 Bristol.


Now a James GIBBARD Married a Jane Eva MEADEN 12 Aug 1820, Bristol

So we have Charles Packman Gibbard Christened 18 June 1826, Bristol
+ another Sibling;
HENRY Gibbard 19 August 1827, St James, Bristol, Glous to WILLIAM/CAROLINE

There is a possible Burial for him age 2, 12 Oct 1830

Just to let you know that Charles Parkman Gibbard and Mary Ann Snelgrove are my gr gr grandparents. Their daughter Mary Ann married Henry Poole and lived in Barton Regis later moved to Gilfach Goch, they had 12 children
