Have you looked at the Ohio Death Certificates on www.familysearch.org?  If they are listed, it may give the names of their parents, which would confirm your suspicions.

This might be the marriage with Bridget's surname mistranscribed - https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/X8HN-R32

Thomas is here in 1940 - https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/KW22-T4Q

Considering how close Youngstown is to Pennsylvania, you might want to check there for Thomas' death.  There is information about the online Pennsylvania death index here - http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,582973.0.html

If that doesn't pan out, it looks like the Youngstown library will do limited research in city directories/telephone books.  http://www.libraryvisit.org/library.aspx?id=1548  Sometimes, city directories will include dates of death.
