Missing Ledsham Family
« on: Saturday 18 August 12 18:46 BST (UK) »
Hi,
Can anybody locate this person/family in 1841, or find his baptism?

John Ledsham born around 1838 in Gresford, Denbighshire.
He can be found easily from 1851 when he is still living in Denbighshire and employed as a 'servant' alongside his father (I hope), Joseph Ledsham, who had been born around 1801.

After his marriage in 1860 he resided in Cheshire. Another clue which may help was that he appeared to have a brother, William Ledsham born around 1826 in Gresford, Denbighshire.

Can anybody shed any light?

Thanks
Sue

The 1841 census for the Wrexham area is lost I'm afraid. There does look to be another possible brother a Joseph showing in 1851.Given as born in Gresford in c 1827 and a servant in Gwernaffield Flintshire.

Regards
William Russell Jones.

this may be brother William in 1851

Square, Gresford HO107/2502 folio 213 pg 4
Mary Ledsham head mar 55 b. Oxfordshire
William son 24 aug(?) labourer b. Gresford - suspect that it should be ag labourer but looks more like aug.

Gresham parish records can be accessed on Findmypast. There looks to be 4 sisters as well as brothers William & Joseph.
