According to the 1901 & 1911 census, he was born in 1895, Burnham, Buckinghamshire. (Eton District).

Parents - Arthur Frederick Gomm b.1866. Haddenham(1911) or Aston Sandford(1901).   Alice Mary Gomm b.1868. Hurley, Berks.  (I assume this is the right family).

There is a potential marriage for Sidney Gomm, in O/N/D - 1928. Eton district.  Vol. 3a.  Page. 2272.

Bride listed as Rosina E. Hearn.

There is a potential son, Frederick A.S. Gomm  A/M/J - 1929. Eton district. Vol 3a.  Page. 1566.   Mothers maiden name of Hearn.

In the 1939 census, there is a Sidney Gomm born 1895, in Slough with Clara E R Gomm (1894), and a locked record and a closed record.

I do not have access to FindMyPast - if someone who has could look for more details?

(So he married Clara Young in 1936)

There is a death for a Rosina E Gomm in 1953 in Eton - divorce or bigamy or not his marriage?

Sidney Gomm born 4th February 1895, died age 84 in Sep. quarter 1979 in Chiltern and Beaconsfield district.

If that first marriage was his, the potential son:
Mr Frederick Albert Sidney Gomm died age 83 on 31st December 2012 in Bracknell, Berkshire

Just to confuse 1911 has two records for a Sidney Gomm in the Slough area  ::)

The Chalvey army record looks promising - Elsie B Gomm died in June qtr 1936 so he could well have remarried Clara Young in the December qtr of that year.
