Searching for ancestors of Honora who married John Stephen Marlow (Born 18 October 1793 - St. Mary, Nottinghamshire, England, parents Thomas Marlow and Anne Hall).

I have found the births of their children in Hampshire, it only lists Honora's surname as Marlow, I tried to search for the births on FreeREG but could not find any so could someone please help.

Below is their children:

Thomas Marlow Born 2 June 1822 - Portsmouth, Hampshire, England

Mary Ann Marlow Born 14 September 1823 - Portsmouth, Hampshire, England

John Marlow Born 26 June 1825 - Portsmouth, Hampshire, England

Henry Marlow Born 25 March 1828 - Portsmouth, Hampshire, England

Richard William Marlow Born 27 December 1829 Portsmouth, Hampshire, England. Died 27 March 1832 - Portsmouth, Hampshire, England , age at death: 2 years old

Stephen William Marlow Born 10 June 1832 - Portsmouth, Hampshire, England

Kind regards,

Curtis

The marriage does not seem to have taken place in Hampshire.

Are they back in Nottingham by 1841?  If so, I think Honora was born in Ireland and the marriage may have taken place there.  Was John an army man?

No, he was Navy.  Greenwich pensioner in 1851.  Honora was born in Cork. I think you may need to look in Ireland for a marriage.

Hi I belive that possibly that the marriage did occur in Ireland, as on the 1841 Hanora shown as Hannah aged 40 b Ireland, has in the family a Hannora Marlow aged 22 b Ireland?

I have updated my post in the Ireland forum. Hopefully someone can find a marriage.

Is there any other way to find any births of the children? Family Search does not list a surname and I cannot find them at all on FreeREG.

The maiden name of the mother is rarely recorded on baptism records and since this is prior to the start of civil registration, the marriage is just about the only way forward on this.  :-\

I found a baptism for Thomas Marlow but it does not list his mothers maiden name. I will keep looking for a potential marriage.

Searching again National Archives:

Searching again I found out there is another half sibling.

Thomas Marlow. admitted to Greenwich Hospital School on unknown date

Applicant born 19 May 1822 and baptised 2 June 1822 in Portsmouth, Southampton. Invited to attend the school July 1833. Siblings: Mary Ann, John, Henry and Richard William. Half brother; Michael[?] Riordan.

From English Roman Catholic records:
Michael Riordan b 14 Jan 1816 & bapt 21 Jan 1816 at St Patrick Soho Square Westminster
son of Honora Lyne and Cornelii Riordan

Honora Lion bp 25 Jun 1798 Passage West, Cork, Ireland
parents: John Lion & Catherine Regan of Shanbally

Unsure if this is likely if the above information is likely too.
