Seeking records for James Kelly (Kelley) b.1821 +/- 2 yrs in Co Longford, emigrated to the UK, probably Cumberland or Northumberland, married Catherine between 1841 and 1851

where did James and Catherine marry ?

If it was in England then the place to start would be with their marriage to establish the names and occupations of their fathers..  some clues to look for re the marriage location and timeframe would be years and places of birth for their children on the census returns and also Catherine's place of birth

To search for a baptism for James you would usually require a detailed location - i.e. the name of the town, townland or parish this family lived. This is particularly important with an early date like this and a very common surname like Kelly..

Right now its all guesswork - I surmise that they were married by around 1841 because their eldest son was 19 in 1861, but where - I guess Northumberland or Cumberland.
