These are the references you need from what you posted above-
Joseph Lowry Stewart Apr-Jun 1883 volume 1 page 350
Margaret M`Clay  Apr-Jun 1883 volume 1 page 29

As you can see the groom and bride appear on different pages in the register so they were not married to each other.

Hi

This is a long shot,

Alexander Philip Stewart is my great grandfather lived in Bellshill most of his life, however i can find no record of his birth in Scotland, i believe that he was born in Ireland although i don`t know where.

Alexander was born around 1893 to parents Joseph Stewart and Margaret McLay?(could be McKay or other variation as is not very clear) taken from marriage cert, there is a possiblility that his father was Patrick as taken from his Death cert but Alexander would have given the name on the marriage cert so i am going with that.

Alexander may have been a twin or had twin brothers one of which may have been called John.

There are other posts on this man on rootschat as i have had this brickwall for a while now, but now concentrating on birth for the moment.

any help appreciated

Regards

William

Not sure why you've posted this today since you already have a thread looking for the same person (started in January). I've now merged the 2 topics to avoid anymore confusion and duplication but have you looked at the marriage certificate mentioned here-

I think you need to carefully go over all the information found on your previous topic on the Lanarkshire board

There is quite a bit of information that you may have overlooked including this marriage found by Sancti.
1892 STEWART JOSEPH and MCKAY MARY ANN M at GORBALS GLASGOW CITY/LANARK
