Dunrobin Castle
« on: Wednesday 05 September 12 19:23 BST (UK) »
My grandmother Jane Mackenzie  lived in Dunrobin Glen , and worked as a ladies maid at Dunrobin Castle maybe circa 1899 to 1914.

Are there likely to be employment records kept at the Castle for staff over the years , and if so is it possible to obtain information on the employment of my grandma during this period ?

Have you checked the 1901 and 1911 censuses to see if she is in residence at the castle? That would give you the names of her fellow servants.

This thread may give you some pointers, looks like some records may be kept at National Library of Scotland for the period up to 1920.
