End of an era?

The Wellington Journal, 3 April 1886
POLICE COURT - Saturday

Transfers - On the application of Mr Onions, the license of the Falcon Inn, Woore, was transferred from Charles Collier to John Wilding.

Thanks for posting.  Not sure exactly what to read into it, or if there is anything to read into it.   Who mr Onions might be or represent and why the Police Court.
Collier - in Cheshire / Shropshire
Blakemore - in Staffordshire
