Hi Tony

I've found the two Wallasey graves(Skirrow and Smith) and will send the photos to you soon.
I'll try to look for D.Terry later this week - can't seem to see him on the CWG but will go to look soon.

Regards

Hi again Tony -

You're welcome

I found the burial details for Douglas Terry this evening at the library. His occupation is stated as a cotton salesman - I thought it would have said soldier.
Eventually found his grave- the numbering system in Flaybrick is often a challenge! I have a photo of the family grave - private Terry's name is at the bottom and says 'died of wounds'.

Ancestry has his pension details and medal index card - Liverpool Regiment number 15236.

Don't know why he's not on the CWG site.

I'll send the photos to you soon

Hope this helps

Reference Douglas Terry its possible he could be a post discharge non commemorated soldier
You would need a death certificate if it was related to his wounds I think with a surviving record there's a good chance he will be added to CWGC

Maybe you could report him to the link above...he may already be on their radar

Tony re "PTE.33036 J NIELD  DIED 13/11/1918     TIMPERLEY  COM,CHRIST CHURCH "

Timperley is now part of Trafford and a local has created a website for all Trafford's War Dead, a massive work that's being going on since the 90s. It does have this soldier, mentions other memorials he's listed on & a few other details & they say they have a grave photo, so may be worth contacting them (shrunk link):

Best wishes with the project

Hi Tony

You're welcome -just pleased to find him.

If it's any help I did already have a newspaper report with a photo of private Terry's funeral at Flaybrick (for a different project) so I thought he must be buried there but just couldn't find him on the CWG site.
The report says he had a military funeral and a bit more background. The address is the same as Ancestry.
I'm at work at the moment but will check it again later. I can send it to you with the photos
if you'd like to see it
There's a D.Terry on the Birkenhead War Memorial.
