John Blundell Mitchell
« on: Monday 10 September 12 16:33 BST (UK) »
John Blundell Mitchell was born in 1905 in Hampstead London. In  1911 he was living with his mother Louisa Mitchell and his siblings at Masons bridge House ,Earlswood Redhill, Surrey.
While I have an idea of the lives of his siblings I can find no marriage record or death record for him. Any Suggestions

Not much help but there is a baptism for him at Holy Trinity Hampstead on 13/05/1905, father William Henry and mother Louise, father a merchant, might this mean with this occupation he might have travelled abroad with his father, only this and a birth shown for John Blundell

Thank you . Alas no--his father died on 1909---but left some £55,000 to the family---So they are well provided for .

Another thought is the wife married for the second time and he took on his step father's name, just a suggestion.

Perhaps you need to look at outward and returning passengers, did he use his name as a double barrelled name, another thought

Re: John Blundell Mitchell revisited

Hello
Its some years since I looked at John Blundell Mitchell born  13/2/1905.  I have uncovered some more  information but he still  remains a mystery.

I now know he was  engaged on  24/11/1930 to a Dorothy Molloy Whiting but I cant find a marriage record. On the  1935 Electoral role he is living at 93 Doods Road Reigate with his mother ( now remarried) Louise Waterer--no mention of a wife for him--along with other family members . i looked at shipping records and found that

In 1956 (24/8/1956) he sailed from New York to Lisbon.listed by his full name. No Family with him.
In May 1958 he arrives at Southampton --listed as John Mitchell --but DOB correct. From that entry we learn he was a chemist, married , and home address is 43 cranbourne Rd ,Slough Bucks . Ships record confirms he lives in England . But what happens to him ??

I am assuming he dies before 1966 --but that's simply because he is the only one of his siblings not mentioned in his mothers will.
Grateful for any information.
Thank You .
