I am trying to find my ancestor Joseph Hartley on some Texas records.

I know that he arrived in the US on 7 April 1925 with his wife.

He was a joiner and cabinet maker so I am assuming that is why he went there in the first place.

He returned to England in 1929 just a few weeks before he died.

Thanks.

Just picking up this thread again as I have found some more information about Joseph among my grandma's things that we are currently sorting out.

A newspaper cutting about his sudden demise says that he worked on North Street and Dalton Lane in Keighley.  I have been trying to find him in a trade directory but so far no luck.

The passenger list I have found says that he and his wife left England on 24 February 1925.

I am starting to do  research on James Edward Hartley, son of Joseph Hartley and Mary Alice Bowker. Can you give me any leads?

All I can tell you so far is that he is the eldest son of Joseph and Mary Alice Hartley, born in Keighley in 1886 and died in 1969.

What is your interest in the family please?

James Edward is my first cousin 3x removed.

He married Gertrude Hargrave in 1908 and they had a daughter called Dorothy.

James Edward Harley that I am looking for:
Mother Mary Alice Bowker
Father Joseph Hartley
Brother John William Hartley died in Keighley (I think)
Sister Ann Elizabeth Hartley (Nolde)  died in San Antonio Tx
Wife Sarah Riley died in Bronx NY
Son Jack Hartley died in Bronx NY
James Edward died in Florida
The trip to Texas matches this family since I have a newspaper article about Joseph and Mary visiting Ann and bringing furniture.  But other things seem to be off.  I guess we are talking about two different James Edward Hartleys.
