Need help to find marriage cert for William Jones and Hannah ? circa 1883. William born Abergwilli c 1861 and Hannah born Llangeler c 1860. They had 5 children Mary c1883, Margaret c 1885, Ebenezer c 1887, John c 1890 and David c 1893. All were born in Llangeler with the exception of David in Conwil Elfed. The family ended up in Llanelly (found in the census records for 1891, 1901 & 1911.
I need more info to locate their parents my GGG parents.

Father of William - John Jones,Labourer,  Father of Hannah - Ebenezer Thomas, Cooper.

Thanks rhosgogh for the info, its the nearest I've come to my GGGrand parents as I believe my GGrand father William was a wool weaver though eventually he ended up in Llanelly as a Haulier.
Using your info I tried to locate the marriage via Genes Reunited but they haven't a record of William Jones or Hannah Thomas in January 1883 to tie in with the date you supplied. If I may can I ask you where you got your details?
Is there a dedicated Welsh search engine for problems like this?
Again thanks for your input.

Trevor W - it's best to use the "Reply" button, on the right, at the top and bottom of all the posts on a page.

Confusing, I know! But you'll get the hang of it! ;D ;D

Hi,
Freebmd has a William Jones 1st Qtr (Jan/Feb/March) 1883 Newcastle E. 11B 18, there is also a Hannah Thomas 1st Qtr (Jan/Feb/March) 1883 Newcastle E. 11B 18.

Genes has 1883 Newcastle Emlyn, Cardiganshire for both a William Jones and a Hannah Thomas.

The District Information on Freebmd gives Newcastle Emlyn as spanning Cardiganshire, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire.

HTH,
Megran.

Hello Trevor W,

I got the information from the Parish Records . Very useful as long as the people concerned married in Church as opposed to Chapel. Especially when looking for a Jones!

Ebenezer Thomas, Hannah's father is fairly easy to find in the census records, living in Llangeler. I haven't looked for William's father, John Jones.

Regards,

Rhosgoch.
