So going back to William Ward Cooper, think this is his widow
1841 Census
COOPER, in Hugglescote
ASHBY DE LA ZOUCH, Leicestershire
HO107 piece 601 folio 11/9 page 11

so I put his name in the paper

The Leicester Chronicle: or, Commercial and Agricultural Advertiser (Leicester, England), Saturday, November 02, 1839

DISTRESSING SUICIDE
On Friday last the friends and relatives of Mr. William Ward Cooper, of Hugglescote, were plunged in the deepest distress by his unfortunate death by his own hand. He had been out shooting, and was in apparent sound health-but on his return home he retired to put his gun away, and change his shirt, when the report of fire arms alarmed his family, and announced the dreadful calamity. The immediate cause of his death has been attributed to the annoyance of a discreditable charge brought against him; but we understand there is not the slightest foundation for this rumour-and some difficulties in which he was involved in consequence of disputed county rates is alleged as the more probable cause. An inquest was held on the body on Sunday last, before John Gregory, jun. Gent. the coroner for the district, and a verdict of ''Temporary insanity'' was returned. The deceased has left a wife and two small children

Hi willsy
thanks a lot for all the information you have sent me on my mums family tree ,what a waste of a life he could have made some thing of him self ,this john geary at shackerstone ,his he the same one on the marriage of elizabeth and charles if so that would this would all come right .i have the family of Ann hopkinson ,i have the photo of stoke heys farm ,as its still there at the back of the golf couse where i take my dogs  it just called old heys now,.i did find this on william geary  old heys wills leicestershire  pecular courts 1795
wills proved  and Adminstrations granted in the  commissary court of the manor of evington 1581-18ooon one side of the court it states bundle but never proved ,i did contact leicestershire uni as they did a dig at stoke heys and thet sent me back what they found  it is a moated site of old heys  a sam  which had  associated  manorial  earthwork  west  and north  of the moated  enclosure .It was possible  that  buried  Archaeological  remains  relating  to the site  had survived  within the propsed development  area area and  hence may be impacted upon by any groundworks.
aAlso contacted mary Bonney at the record office anshe sent me some back stating that william geary of old heys, william geary the older  of old heys  in ratby  parish grazier .it mentions  his  wife mary  and brother  thomas  of Attleborough, warkwickshire  baker these are the only relatives  mentioned in the will ,he was a rich man
william geary  of old heys  ratby  1786  was a surveyor of  lands in cropston.
william geary  of old heys  ratby  grazier mentioned in the lease dated  march 1794

The trouble is, John Geary signs most of the marriages and John the younger marries so you might have to do a bit of unravelling that way.
