I would like to to try find out some other dates, Going back to Alice Ethel Dunn (Nan)  she remarried  1945/46?  in Richmond N Yorks,  they had 2 children  ???

You can find the marriage entry on FreeBMD http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl
Dec qtr. 1944 Richmond

Looks as if her husband died 1964 Yorkshire North Riding, his middle name possibly Mortimer born 1905 Richmond Yorkshire NR

Walter Kipling married Jun 1901 Richmond Jane Mortimer

there's a female & male birth entry with mother's maiden name as ALCHIN
you can find their names on FreeBMD
Sep qtr. 1945 Richmond & Jun qtr. 1948 Richmond
