I was just wondering if anyone has any information on Elizabeth Rebecca Burns born about 1883 in Gloucestershire, please? As ive just found her on a certificate this morning and apparantly,she married my great great uncle!

Where does the information come from that she was born in Gloucestershire?

If you have the marriage certificate (is that the certificate you are referring to?) what information does it give as to the name and occupation of her father? Are you seeking information about her before or after the marriage?

She seems to have died in Herefordshire as a 75 yr old widow in 1958.

Elizabeth R Burns on the 1891 census aged 1 years old
born at Horfield, Glos
parents are Walter A Burns and wife is Mary R
she has siblings called
Frederick A  aged 7
Katherine J aged 3
William Henry  aged 0

Hi,

Thanks for your replies! It was Josephs death certificate,that I found out about Elizabeth. It was that marriage in 1926,but ive ordered the other marriage certificate,as i didn't know he married again til this morning! Just by narrowing it down,from Freebmd,thats why I think she was born in Gloucestershire. Hope someone can help me go further back!

So presumably you don't know whether the 1926 marriage was her first marriage?

If it was, and Burns was her maiden name, then there's a Shropshire birth registration which may be relevant (Sep qtr 1882 Clun).

The one AVM mentions is still unmarried on 1911, and living in Somerset (born Bishops Castle)

Hi everyone,

Ive got the marriage certificate for Elizabeth and Joseph Aloysius Tait in 1926,was just wondering if anyone would be able to see if there was a write up in any Herefordshire Newspaper in 1926 please? He was an Army Pensioner in 1926,if that helps?
