Gen, I know its probably not much help and you may already have the answer, but I can discount the Jannet Wiseman who marries George Paterson in 1783 for you. She is from Banff and her parents were John Wysman and Jean Urquahart ( from the marriage entry). ;)

Does anyone know about aJames Sinclair married to Anne Wiseman both of whom would have been born around 1685-1700?They are my 7th G Grandparents.

I am related to   Margaret Wiseman who was born in about 1785 and she was married to James Souter on October 29 1822 in Elgin, Moray, Scotland.
