Aghadowey,

That makes sense but Griffiths shows the normal red boundary line between the two and lists the households separately (in the different parishes). So it’s probably helpful to know there are two listings to ensure no household is overlooked.

I looked up the Grifiths map online, Sarah Watson was the tenant at house and land owned by Worshipful Company of Drapers, at Moneyhaw, Arboe.  And it seems to me that it fronted the modern Moneyhaw Road.  Only a small place, most of  Moneyhaw area seemed to be owned by the Worshipful Company of Drapers.

But there's no Whiteside listing anywhere.

Possibly John Whiteside was dead or no longer ran his own farm at the time of Griffiths? Griffiths only listed heads of household and then only if they had land of a certain value. So someone staying with  their in-laws for example is not going to be listed. Nor are servants and other categories.

The tithe applotment records for Coltrim (1820s/30s) might show a Whiteside farm.

The Worshipful Company of Drapers owned/leased a large chunk of Co Londonderry at that time. They were given it as a part of the Plantation of Ulster.

Also, bear in mind that residences on marriage certificate are where the bride and groom were living at the time. Since the bride is listed as a servant she could be from another place.

Hi hachab, I haven't got any further in Ireland, William John Watson's mother was Sarah.  I believe Sarah came to Australia, following her son, but sadly died only a few days after getting off the boat.  I haven't found any more on the Whiteside family, Elizabeth Whiteside was a servant when married so no real idea about where her family came from.  John Whiteside, Coltrim is all I found.
