hi i am new on here , my husband collects medals and i research them , just interesting to find the the past from the medal receiver anyway , i seem to have hit a brick wall . my husband bought a group of medals . the war medal.+ 1914-15 star + victory medal with the inscription ts7864 , w.thomas , dvr, a.s.c but now i can not find anything else out other than what the medals say . no medal index etc. just can not find him . help needed please.

If you have Ancestry he is indexed as William Thomas TS-7864, served as Driver ASC, Theatre 1, first entry 23/9/15.

The TS prefix is for (Horse) Transport section, Special Enlistments, usually for men with a specific related trade. Unless his service record has survived, or AVLs etc, finding which Company he was in will be difficult. I would guess that he enlisted April / May 1915.
