Stillborn babies in Dornie
« on: Sunday 30 September 12 09:59 BST (UK) »
I have relatives John McCulloch and Elsie McCulloch buried in “Clachan Duich” Burial ground Kintail also in the grave along with the parents are three children William, Finlay and Catherine. On the gravestone it only states died in infancy.
Could they be stillborn births ?

I cannot find any record at scotlands people of their births so were or are stillborn births registered in scotland in fact are stillborn births registered anywhere. Never come across this problem before.

Any help would be gratefully received

Regards

John

In Scotland stillbirths were recorded from 1939.

http://www.gro-scotland.gov.uk/regscot/registering-a-stillbirth.html

Access to records is restricted to the parents, or siblings where they can provide proof that the parents are no longer living.

When did they die?

Have you checked with the Cemeteries Office to see if the ages were recorded?

I was just using the death index with the information and spelling you had , without looking at the certificates I couldn't be certain it was them
