Hi ,

From what you have it could be this one -

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/XYNC-L98

As official registration didn't start until 1855 he won't have a birth certificate ,
you could check the Old Parish Records(OPR's) for the above but it probably
won't have much more http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/

1851 Whistleberry Kinneff & Catterline Kincardineshire
Alexander Taylor 45 farm labourer born Maryculter Kincardineshire
Christina Taylor 31 wife b. Fordoun Kincardineshire
Elisabeth Taylor 12 dau. b. Kinneff Kincardineshire
(FreeCEN website)

Alexander married before ?

There is another James Taylor, born Kinneff, with father Alexander Taylor(mother Ann Hampton ?) who might fit but I think he is in Scotland in 1881

Looks like Christina Taylor(Clark) is widowed by 1881(maybe by 1871)
Her husband Alexander may have died 1867 Kinneff Kincardine
His age is given as 66 , which is a bit out with that 1851 Census(age 45) ,
however I think his age is given as 40 in the 1841 Census(transcription)

Was James Taylor's father noted as deceased on his marriage certificate ?

Christian Taylor(other surname Clark) death 1893 Kinneff Kincardine , born c1820(Scotlandspeople)
